Meet Yogi Photographer

Welcome to my web flow of Yoga, Feng Shui, Reiki & Photography! 


I am a certified Yoga Instructor, Reiki Master, Feng Shui Practitioner and a professional photographer, living my best life in beautiful British Columbia. Yoga has been part of my life since I emigrated to Canada from the UK almost 20 years ago. Photography has been a passion all my life. I became a Feng Shui Practitioner while I was studying interior design many years ago and recently became certified as a Reiki Master. Being able to merge all of these tools in my working life brings me great joy!  

I am certified in Vinyasa & Yin Yoga and design my yoga classes to suit all levels, with plenty of guidance on alignment and breath for the beginner and opportunities for advanced students to take the asanas to their fullest expression.

Yoga is a way of life for me, it's not just something I teach and it helps me to maintain optimal health.  5 years ago, I was diagnosed with an auto immune disease. Before this happened, my passion for yoga was always for the power classes, I didn’t much care for the part where you had to lie down and relax! All that changed when my body became consumed with inflammation and my flexibility evaporated overnight.


Drastic changes in your body can also affect your mind so when I decided to switch to Yin & Restorative yoga, I was hoping to calm my mind as well as my body. For a full year I did nothing but Yin and Restorative yoga, with wonderful instructors who helped me to focus on my breath. Learning to enjoy being still and holding poses for long periods of time, stressing and stretching the fascia and connective tissues until slowly, my body began to respond and the flexibility returned.


It felt like the longest year, but eventually I was able to enjoy the power classes again and I made the decision to teach what I had learned. I travelled to the Nexus Institute in Costa Rica for my 200hr Vinyasa YTT training and to Semperviva Studio in Vancouver for Yin Yoga training. My journey with Yoga has been an incredible one and I am so grateful to be able to share my knowledge & experience with you.

My Classes

YIN

Our practice begins with focus on the Breath, followed by a short Meditation or Visualization and we set our Intention.


Throughout our practice we mindfully practice the 3 principles of Yin Yoga; finding your edge, being still & holding the pose.  We work with the connective tissues, stretching and stressing to lubricate the joints and improve flexibility.


Yin Yoga is intentionally slow so that we can turn our attention to the inner landscape of our bodies.  Yin postures also help to activate the meridien lines (energy channels in the body) balancing the flow of energy throughout the body.


Our final pose of Savasana allows for complete Relaxation.

Our practice begins with focus on the Breath, followed by a short Meditation or Visualization and we set our Intention.

We warm up the body then put the muscles to work with a fiery Vinyasa Flow designed to sweat out the toxins!

We slow it down in the second half of our practice, focusing on the connective tissues, ligaments and joints with gentle, Restorative postures.

We end our practice with Savasana, allowing the body to totally relax.

Oxygen Yoga & Fitness West Kelowna

Begin your day by centering your mind and body. Join us for morning Hot Yoga Flow and start your day off smiling. Mix sun salutations, balance poses, standing poses with strengthening poses and deep stretches. Early morning yoga is a great way to center yourself, listen to your body and set an intention. Focus on how you are feeling and then respond. Typically we are stiffer in the morning and so an early morning practice teaches us the most about our bodies.
